Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Ad Detector handles data and device permissions.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Ad Detector app developed by TON.

2. Data Processed by the App

To provide app analysis functionality, Ad Detector may process the following information locally:

  • App names, package names, icons, and versions.
  • App installation or update times.
  • Certain permissions and technical components that Android allows the app to inspect.
  • Assessment results and scan history stored on the device.

This information is used to create a list of apps that need attention and explain the reasons for each assessment.

3. Personal Data and Advertising

The current version does not require users to create an account and does not ask for names, phone numbers, addresses, contacts, messages, photos, or personal content.

Ad Detector displays ads using the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). Google and its advertising partners may process device identifiers, IP address, app interactions, diagnostic information, and approximate location derived from network information to deliver, measure, and protect advertising. Their processing is governed by their own policies and the consent choices available to the user.

4. Local Data Processing

App analysis is performed on the device. Ad Detector does not upload the scanned app list or scan history to our servers. Internet access is used by the advertising SDK to request and display ads.

5. Permissions

The released version uses the following Android capabilities:

  • Limited app visibility: Android package queries are used to find launchable apps and apps that declare an Accessibility Service or a boot receiver. Ad Detector does not request the broad QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission.
  • Internet and network state: used to load and display ads through Google Mobile Ads.
  • System settings links: the app may open relevant Android settings pages so users can review another app's information or permissions.

Ad Detector cannot grant itself permissions or change another app's permissions without user action in Android settings.

6. Third-Party Services

The released version uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display advertising. Google may collect and process information as described in the Google Privacy Policy and Google advertising policies. Ad Detector does not currently integrate Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Scan history and the list of apps marked as safe or ignored are stored locally. Users can clear scan history in Ad Detector's settings or erase all local data through the app information page in Android settings. Data processed by Google for advertising is retained according to Google's policies and user controls.

8. Security

We apply reasonable measures to limit unauthorized access. However, no method of data storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

Ad Detector is not designed to collect children's personal information. The app only analyzes technical device information as described in its functionality.

10. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when the app's functionality changes. The latest update date will be displayed at the top of this page.
